Military Families
Linwood Public Schools is committed to supporting the military families within our community through the unique challenges and opportunities that accompany military life. With a growing population of families involved in the various branches of service, our district strives to not only acknowledge these families, but support them in their time as Linwood Students.
Every year Linwood Schools participate in “Week of the Military Child” where we take the time to recognize the students in our school who are connected to the military and provide opportunities to celebrate those students and educate our school community.

I have the pleasure of being Belhaven’s military family contact. As a 21 year military spouse myself, I know full well the unique challenges our military families face as they navigate transitions, deployments, extended TDYs and more. As an educator I make it my aim to help develop the whole child - academically, socially and emotionally. This role allows me to combine both of these aspects as a means of supporting our military connected students.

I am honored to serve as our school’s Military Family Liaison and to support the students and families in our school community who are connected to the military. As an educator and a military spouse, I am passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone feels supported and valued. In my role as liaison, I work to connect military families with school and community resources, increase awareness of the unique experiences of military-connected students, and help our school build a strong culture of support and belonging. I look forward to fostering a school community where military-connected students and families feel welcomed, understood, and supported.

National Military Family Association Education Resources
This association supports and advocates for military families and the service members who serve our country.
Operation Purple Camp is a free summer camp program for military-connected children that provides opportunities to build resilience, develop coping skills, and connect with other children who understand the military lifestyle. It offers a supportive environment where children can have fun, make friends, and feel a sense of community.
Military Teen Adventure Camps (MTAC)
MTAC offers a variety of unique outdoor experiences for military connected teens (ages 13-18). Choose from camps located around the country where students build leadership, self-confidence and teamwork skills. These camps are provided at little to no cost, with assistance for travel expenses available.
Tutoring for Military Families
WebMD's Mental Health Resource Center
Military families experience unique challenges and stressors that can impact their health and well-being. This website offers mental health resources and support specifically designed to help military families.
This local branch of the VA offers a variety of services including, medical care, mental and behavioral health, nutrition services, and more.
