  • Collaboration: We value the partnership between students, families, educators, and the community in creating a successful learning environment.
  • Innovation: We embrace new ideas and approaches to teaching and learning that prepare our students for the challenges of the 21st century.
  • Integrity: We conduct ourselves with honesty, transparency, and accountability in all our actions.

Our Goals

GOAL #1 – Over the next five years, the Linwood School District will ensure that curriculum, instruction, and assessment are designed and implemented with an innovative focus on content rigor, student engagement, social and emotional learning (SEL), creativity and real life learning experiences that promote student confidence and academic achievement.

GOAL # 2 - Continue to implement a highly effective preschool program to serve up to 90% of the identified preschool universe while implementing the New Jersey Teaching and Learning Standards as well as the mandates of the Preschool Expansion Aid Program.

GOAL #3 - Commit the fiscal and human resources to assure adequate staffing while providing a system for talent development that supports current staff, enhances retention and recruitment efforts, and invests in the District’s social capital.

GOAL #4 - Continue to explore and review options for social outreach to ensure that timely, accurate, and relevant information about our student successes, staff highlights, innovative programs, and overall District excellence is accessible and enhances our community connection.

GOAL #5 - Conduct a comprehensive facility assessment from an analysis of current and future educational programming needs in a primary, secondary, and tertiary rank of deficiency, remediation, and conversion importance.

GOAL #6 – Continue to review, implement, and assess fiscal efficiencies, effective general accounting practices, and accountability of building level and central offices fiscal practices while researching grant and other financial engagement opportunities.

Welcome from our Superintendent

Welcome to the Linwood Public School District!  We are proud of our Linwood Schools’ community and the success of our students, staff, and District.  Our Seaview Elementary School and our Belhaven Middle School provide an engaging, positive and productive atmosphere for children to learn and staff to facilitate educational experiences for children.  Our District is driven to support well-rounded student development through challenging academic programming and co-curricular activities.  We also support our Seaview Dolphins and Belhaven Falcons with social and emotional growth activities with a focus on student wellness.  We look to nurture and build the foundation for student success in school and beyond.

As our Mission Statement declares, the educational direction of the Linwood School District lends itself to celebrate the journey of life-long learning, and empowers children to emerge as educated, responsible, compassionate citizens of the world.  We strive to assist students in  developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to become perceptive, culturally aware, community-focused citizens of a globally-connected society.

The Linwood Public School District is recognized as a high-performing school District by the New Jersey Department of Education and both schools have been recognized by US News and World Report as Best Schools in their category.  Although we are grateful for these recognitions, we are most proud of the work of our students, staff, administration, Board of Education, and entire school community that makes Linwood a special place to live and learn each day.
